About – David palmer

Photographer

I’m Dave, Hi! I am the founder of David Palmer Photography, I have always had a keen interest in photography throughout my life but since having kids spent lots of times picking up and putting down the camera, life and jobs took priority and my passion took a back seat. I was then encouraged a few years ago by my partner Amy, to start back again and let my creativity run free!

So with the purchase of a shiny new DSLR camera I found I loved it more than ever, taking thousands upon thousands of photos and capturing so many memories along the way. I always said that I would never want to be a photographer and pursue it as a full time career but… here I am! Now with my very own studio, and photographing more and more and some may ask why?? Simply answered, because I truly love it, using my camera and capturing memories for so many. Yet secretly what I love even more is watching clients see their images after I have completed a shoot. The ‘wow’s’ and emotions on their faces is the best feeling ever knowing I have helped to give them those truly personal and unique photos to always look back on. Right, that’s enough about photography as you can see that in our portfolio.

The photo you see is me, and was taken by my partner Amy (don’t panic she’s not a photographer and won’t be taking your pictures) its on Scarborough beach, probably my most favourite place in the world as it holds lots of memories for us and we try and visit as much as possible with Alfie our dog and family. We feel a layer of stress lift when we see the sea and walk along the beach whatever the weather, its our happy place for sure! So if you’ve made it to the end thank you! For now that’s enough about me, I am so happy to be able to share my passion with you and hope you will join me on my journey!

Studio Manager

Hi, im Beth! A wife, mum to two beautiful daughters and what some may call a ‘crazy cat lady’ oh and a ‘crazy plant lady’ too. I love being a mum, love going on adventures with my family and lazy afternoons on the sofa after a big roast!

I am not one to shy away and say at times it can be hard and try as we might you can sometimes lose who you were before them.

That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to work alongside Dave as his Studio Manager, giving me the chance to be Beth again and share that with you all because if I do say so myself I think I’m pretty nice!

As someone who loves to organise, plan and can’t live without a to do list and calendar (otherwise I would forget everything) taking on this role is like home from home and I’m sure my family are happy I’m bossing someone else around at times now, sorry Dave..

About – Our Studio

Our large, open plan studio has a dedicated changing area and photo viewing area. The studio is spacious with high ceilings and an abundance of natural light.

Our private changing area gives a great space for outfit changes and is equipped with a dressing table and mirror for makeup application and removal.

Built with your comfort in mind, our photo viewing area as you enter the studio is perfect for relaxing whilst we go through your photos with you.

We have tea, coffee and cold drink facilities within the studio – perfect for keeping you refreshed during your session.

Now for the main part, the studio itself is spacious and well lit. We have a selection of different backgrounds that can be used to create the perfect scene. We’ll get the lighting set perfectly for your photos, ensuring we capture the absolute best images possible.
